God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen

God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen has always been one of my favorites songs. For one reason, I love to sing it. My sister and I have this whole arrangement we sing, and its fun! But I also love the words. Take a look:

God rest ye merry gentlemen, let NOTHING you dismay.
REMEMBER Christ OUR Savior was born on Christmas day,
To SAVE us ALL from Satan's pow'r,
When WE WERE GONE ASTRAY.

We can rest in God's promises! He sent His son to save us. Even though we strayed far from God, He sent a Savior. And His gift of salvation is offered to everyone!
So if you ever find yourself in dismay, remember Christmas. Remember that our Savior was born that day. And remember that He took our place. I Peter 3:18 says: "For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:"

So take comfort in Christ's gift of salvation and celebrate the joy of the season!!!
