Tuesday Toss Up - The One About Light
I know that I've been doing trivia for the last two weeks, but I read this quote yesterday, and I just had to use it as a Tuesday Toss Up. You know the routine. Read the quote and leave your thoughts about it in the comments!

Makes me think about the sermon our pastor had Sunday. We can't hide our sins from God. We have to live and walk in his light.
I'm not sure it makes it harder to see him, His will is more powerful than my unwillingness, but rather it robs me of the opportunity to be a part of shining that light to others. Sort of like, the wedding is going to go on, it's just a matter of whether I show up as a guest or not.
Oh, sure...I finally make it on a Tuesday, and you change the routine on me. :)
Well, a lot comes to mind. Especially my own shortcomings. I sometimes don't shine as bright as I should and I hide behind Him. Or do I let Him take over? Some days when I am really stressed, I roll my eyes at our son or let out a long sigh - not good. You know, sometimes I am nicer to strangers than my own kiddo (I am always nice to my hubby *grin* - no really I am)...
Not sure if that is what you were looking for. I could go on forever about this subject.

The first thought that comes to mind is how easy it is to be light--when things are going good. Or when it's easy. Or when I'm with a group of like-minded people. The real struggle for me (and I believe many others) is to shine that light even when we are confused, dismayed, and under complete stress! I have come to believe that our lights are most effectively shown when we surrender our pain and let God use our light for His Glory! Still, somehow, in the recesses of my mind, I hesitate to shine my light--unless everything is "just so."
And yet, what good is light--in the brillance of day? It is most effective when lighting the dark rooms of our hearts, of others souls, and the blackness of sin. This is when we should not hold back the brightness of God's good news--this is when His light is most brilliant. See my point?
