Keep Your Eyes Open - Wisdom in the Walk

You Must See The Purpose

I started this series the other day by talking about how we must see the path. We must also see the purpose that Christ has for each of our lives. The main purpose that each Christian has is found in Matthew 28:19-20:

"19Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
20Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen."

Our purpose is to go into all the world and tell them about the good news we have been given. It is our job to make sure that those around us see the light of God's love.
Now we may all do that in different ways. Some sing, some teach, some preach, some send cards, some write, some share a smile with a stranger. We all have different talents. But we are all working toward the same goal.
Oil and eggs don't work the same way, but when they are put together with a cake mix, they serve the same purpose, they both work to make the cake. So, just because you may not have the same gifts as the person you sit beside at church, that doesn't mean that God doesn't want you to work for His purpose. He wants you to use the gifts He gave YOU! Paul talks about this in Ephesians 4:11-12:

"11And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
12For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:"

The point is, that no matter what your gift is, you can be used. You are important to the body of Christ and key to helping that body grow! So don't sit back and think that someone else can do your work for you. See the purpose God has given you, and get busy fulfilling that purpose!

Hi! I just stopped by your blog from CWO and I just had to tell you how aweseome this post was! You are so right! So many times we just do that "sit back" and let the "other" members of the body take care of things. We do all have a purpose and it is not to "be still..."!!! Thanks for sharing!!
