Tuesday Toss Up - The One About Living the Life

Okay, well since Gibee's idea is such a great one, I'm gonna do another Tuesday Toss Up this week.

Take a look at the quote below and leave your comments about what it means to you, long or short. Oh, and don't forget to check back and see what everyone else thinks!

“The preaching that this world needs most is the sermons in shoes that are walking with Jesus Christ.”- D. L. Moody

Amen!

Not that words aren't important - they are. But to live a breathing, active relationship with Jesus is what unleashes His power in our lives. If we love Him we will pour Him out in what we do and say. So "witnessing" will be constant - and sometimes using words.

The first thing I thought is:

Walk the walk! Live it out loud and not just Sunday morning.

Our actions toward and around other people say much more about what we believe and Who we follow than many of our words can ever convey.

If you are walking with Jesus you don't have to preach. You walk is setting the example.

Our actions do speak louder than words to people. They want to see us living the life, not just talking.

.... la la la la la Live out Loud! Sorry, KPJara got me singing.

It just brings home how important it is that watch our p's and q's as Christians! We might be the only Jesus people see, and if we're not walking with Jesus, than, um ... how can they see Jesus?

Yeah, so that was all confusing and what not. Sorry about it, but really, it makes perfect sense in my head.

And blogger hasn't let me post in hours, so my senses are just a little bit duller now.

I think this means sermons that give us some kind of challenge to live like Jesus- not just some nice words to entertain us for a bit. A character in the novel I'm reading said, "Child, I've studied the Word most my whole life. I know what it says. It's miquoted more often than not, and the preachers that do aren't worth the powder it'd take to blow them up. Most pastors are heavy on the pepper and light on the steak. But not Paster Danny. He gives you a bone with some meat on it." (Charles Matin, Wrapped in Rain)
